Meet the Artist

Born and raised in the great wonderful state of Texas. With two amazing Christian parents and two silly brothers, life could not be better. Adventures definitely describe the daily life.

My name is Elizabeth Marie Fitzhugh, and this is a little bit about me. My story began on September 27th, when I decided to arrive a month early to the party. I was definitely a surprise because a lot of my family thought I was going to be a boy. Little did they know I was going to be a crazy, unpredictable, creative girl.

Life was great. I had all the attention. Little did I know that my journey as an only child would not last long. I had prayed for two straight years for a baby sister, but after two years and two brothers I decided that I probably needed to stop.
Every day since, they have brought constant joy and laughter to my life. God knew exactly what I needed. I could have never asked for anything better.

For a short while in my adventures, we lived in Round Rock, Texas where my dad served as the children's minister for a short time. Soon, we were called back to what is now our longtime home, Corsicana.

I attend First Baptist Church, where my dad has worked for most of my life. I went to every service, every class, and every event. Church was the usual for me, but it wasn't until the beginning of my 7th grade year that I decided to make a commitment to Christ. I stopped living for the approval of others and started living to serve Christ alone.

I played tennis for a few years, and even played on varsity during my freshman year. I really wasn't enjoying high school and absolutely dreaded each day. I soon decided tennis was not the place for me. My sophomore year, I decided to try new things which included becoming a part of the yearbook staff, academic decathlon team, and FFA poultry team.

I met lots of new people, and completely changed my whole perspective and attitude towards school. It is so easy to just live for it to end, but there is so much more to discover if you just dig beneath the surface. Making the most of each day might sound cheesy, but it is the key to finding life in what may seem draining and tiring.

This coming fall, I will serve as the Corsicana Calico Manager, Yearbook Junior Editor, and Junior Class Vice President. I absolutely cannot wait to see where God will take me with this adventure, and to hopefully touch lives with His love.

I have always been creative and artsy, but I never truly centered on it. This summer, I decided to finally start trying to pursue the gifts I have been given in a way that would honor Christ. I figured the more I draw near to the talents He has blessed me with, the more I was living the life He had set out for me. I wanted to be able to spread joy in to people's daily life with color and scripture.

Love always,
